Факторы устойчивости российских компаний в условиях геополитических ограничений / Factors of Russian companies resilience under geopolitical constraints
Аннотация
Study analyzes the resilience factors of Russian companies under geopolitical constraints using the example of the 2022 sanctions based on data on 1,879 Russian manufacturing companies from all regions of Russia obtained from the HSE survey.
The results showed different reactions to the sanctions, with many companies reacting negatively. Some adapted import strategies, while others suffered financially.
Profitability and investment had a positive impact on companies' resilience under sanctions, while state ownership had a negative impact. Skilled employees and organizational support were found to have contributed to the change in earnings, along with advanced technology. Companies involved in international trade, especially with China, showed higher earnings change. Imports from China had a positive impact on revenue change in 2022 compared to 2021. However, changing suppliers from unfriendly countries or domestic sources had a negative impact on revenue change, except in cases of switching to Chinese suppliers.
