Влияние санкций на участие стран в глобальных цепочках стоимости / The Impact of Sanctions on countries' participation in Global Value Chains
Аннотация
Global value chains (GVCs) involve production activities across different countries, coordinated by transnational corporations (TNCs). GVCs offer economic opportunities for developing countries, but also pose challenges. Sanctions are coercive measures that restrict a country's economic activities, impacting its participation in GVCs and connected countries. This thesis examines the impact of sanctions on countries' participation in GVCs, focusing on Russia, Iran, Belize, and Uzbekistan. The study aims to provide empirical evidence on the effects of sanctions, using the Synthetic Control Method (SCM) to compare hypothetical scenarios. The research has practical significance in understanding the economic development and competitiveness of sanctioned countries. The study explores the negative effects of sanctions on GVC participation and considers their impact on sustainable development. Recommendations are provided for future research using the SCM to gain further insights into the impact of sanctions on GVC participation.
