Аннотация

This dissertation examines the consolidation of presidential power in Indonesia during President Joko Widodo's second term, from 2019 to 2024. The study analyzes the strategies used by Widodo to strengthen his position and the implications of these actions on the Indonesian political landscape. It employs a qualitative case study approach, drawing on primary and secondary sources, including interviews, speeches, and policy documents. The study finds that President Widodo has successfully consolidated power through several key strategies, including building a strong coalition, implementing popular policies, and increasing control over key state institutions. However, it also highlights potential risks associated with the concentration of power, such as the erosion of democratic checks and balances and the potential for authoritarian tendencies.
