Правовой статус коренных малочисленных народов в США
Аннотация
Работа посвящена характеристике сложившегося положения коренных народов Северной Америки. На основании широкого круга источников и литературы был проведен анализ понятия «коренные народы», систематизированы основные этапы борьбы коренных народов США за свои права, описаны основополагающие документы и организации. Защита прав коренных народов является сегодня одним из важнейших вопросов международного права. И хотя в последнее время произошел значительный рывок в решении этого вопроса, проблемы все равно существуют. В результате исследования был сделан вывод о том, что законодательство США должно поставить перед собой цель – способствовать развитию и процветанию коренных народов.

The Legal Status of Indigenous peoples in the United States
Abstract
The work is devoted to the description of the situation of the indigenous peoples of North America. Based on a wide range of sources and literature, the concept of «indigenous peoples» was analysed, the main stages of the struggle of the indigenous peoples of the United States for their rights were systematized, basic documents and organizations were described. Protection of the rights of indigenous peoples today is one of the most important issues of International law. And although recently there has been a significant breakthrough in resolving this issue, problems still exist. The study was concluded that US legislation should set a goal to promote the development and prosperity of indigenous peoples.
