Влияние международной трудовой миграции на строительный сектор экономики (на примере ОАЭ, ФРГ, США и РФ) / The impact of international labor migration on the construction sector of the economy (on the example of the UAE, FRG, USA and the RF)
Аннотация
This study examines whether labor migration has a relationship with the construction sector and what impact it may have on it using four countries, Russia, Germany, the United States, and the UAE as case studies.
In a world with constantly evolving technologies, population mobility is also increasing. As population mobility increases, so does migration, which can be both a challenge and a solution for a country's sectors. And the study of labor migration is of active interest to many researchers, as it is not only a challenge for the country, but also an opportunity for growth, as it helps to close gaps in the labor market and can be cheaper on average. One of the country's sectors in which foreign workers are present in the labor market is construction, a fundamental industry responsible for both the welfare of citizens and the development of infrastructure needed by other industries.
The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship between international labor migration and construction sectors in different countries and to evaluate it.
Based on a sample of data on the state of the construction sector and the number of labor migrants, it is concluded that labor migration is indeed closely related to the sector. The analysis shows that even under different historical backgrounds of the countries, labor migration mainly allows to maintain and increase the volume of work in the sector by reducing the labor shortage. But at the same time it can be the cause of this deficit, because on average the earnings of labor migrants are lower, which is preferable for employers, and this reduces the real cost of services in the construction sector, which makes the sector's labor market less attractive.
