Аннотация

The study focuses on trade openness and poverty, as well as determining the impact of trade openness on poverty. To examine the impact of trade openness on poverty, a 22-year analysis was conducted for 65 countries.
The analysis shows that in high-income countries, social transfers, inflation and high fertility have a negative impact on poverty reduction, while trade openness does not show a consistent relationship.
In middle-income countries, high dependency on dependents is associated with greater poverty, but trade openness contributes to poverty reduction.
For lower-middle-income countries, economic growth (higher GDP per capita) and improved social indicators (life expectancy) are key drivers of poverty reduction. At the same time, high fertility exacerbates poverty. At the same time, trade openness does not have a significant impact.
