Tourism is one of the largest sectors of the world economy, accounting for about 10% of world GDP. International tourist flows, in particular, are an important component of the global tourism industry, generating employment opportunities, foreign exchange earnings, and socio-cultural benefits. This study examines the relationship between international tourist flows and cultural and religious factors, such as religious and linguistic similarities, as well as to identify priority areas for the most common religious groups, such as Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Shintoism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Confucianism. The object of this study is bilateral international tourist flows, numbers of arrivals from origin country to destination one; the subject of the study - interdependence between cultural and religious background of countries and international tourist flows.
