It is estimated that hundred million people have suffered from chronic hunger over the past decades. Countries with advanced farming, such as Australia and
Canada, are major exporters of agricultural products, which help maintain food security and provide food to food-deficient countries, by exporting their food to other nations. However, food exports are affected by geopolitical risks, such as geopolitical tensions between countries, sanctions, and conflicts, that will adversely affect the level of world hunger, exacerbating the situation. Сonsideration of geopolitical risks is important to maintain stable food exports from countries such as Australia and Canada to ensure food security and alleviate global hunger.
This study aims to evaluate the effects of geopolitical risks and their components on Australian and Canadian food exports in terms of their capacity to
support SDG 2. The activities below should be completed in order to achieve the goal.
The effect of geopolitical risks on food exports is the subject of the study. Food exports from Australia and Canada are the object of the study.
In the process of solving the tasks, it was concluded that while geopolitical dangers and geopolitical acts have a negative impact on food export from Canada,
they have a favorable influence on food export from Australia. Additionally, geopolitical challenges have beneficial midterm effects for both nations and negative long-term effects for Australia's food export.
