High-tech products are products with high R&D intensity. Therefore, high-tech export, as the indicator of efficiency of implementation of results of R&D and integration in world trade, have huge role as in economy of country and in world sustainable development. In order to increase high-tech exports, it is necessary to understand what factors might contribute to this. As the concept of sustainable development and gender equality has evolved, firms and countries have paid more attention to the increasing gender diversity as a goal for peace and prosperity. Gender diversity generates positive synergies between workers and increases the innovative performance of firms and may have a positive effect on high-tech export.
The goal of this research is to estimate the effect of gender diversity as a factor of high-tech exports. The object of the study is high-tech exporting developed and developing countries. The subject of the study is the impact of gender diversity and other determinants on countries' high-tech exports.
This study examines the impact of gender diversity along with innovation and foreign economic activity on high-tech exports. The relevance of the study is that development of high-tech production and its trade the world market are among the priority tasks at the national level. The lack of development of exports of high-tech industries will hinder the country’s full integration into the world's economic space and its effective development. Therefore, it is important to understand what contributes to an increase in high-tech exports, and what, on the contrary, slows it down.
The econometric analysis was based on 2009-2020 data for 82 developed and developing countries. The influence of indicators on high-tech export were studied by using Random effect method on the Stata14 computer program. Based on the results of the econometric study, the following policy implications were proposed. Countries should pursuit gender equality in many areas of its life, especially in the academic environment and in the workforce. Government should expand economic activity by increasing trade relations, importing new technologies, and gaining new knowledge through FDI, and develop of innovation activity by increasing spending on research and development.
