Transition to industry 4.0 is inextricably linked with the introduction of cross-cutting digital technologies. Cross-cutting digital technologies in five main categories: big data, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing enter the economy and business with completely different applications. In 2022 the main leaders of the S&P 500 index are digital companies, which testifies to the global digitalization and the importance of the introduction of digital technologies. The purpose of the graduation thesis is to study and analyze the effects of the introduction of cross-cutting digital technologies on the global economy.
The object of research: economic development of world economy in the context of cross-cutting technologies. The subject: impact of the level and factors of implementation cross-cutting digital technologies on GDP per capita in developed and developing countries.
This diploma thesis identifies the stages of formation and development of digitalization, as well as cross-cutting digital technologies, capabilities and approaches of countries and industries for the introduction of cross-cutting digital technologies. The econometric analysis of panel data has been chosen as the main methodological tool. In this framework the work identifies the economic, social and technological factors, which are necessary for the introduction of cross-cutting digital technologies. An additional method used in the study is the evaluation of the integral index, which illustrates the readiness to implement cross-cutting digital technologies in a sample of countries.
In the field of the study, the impact of cross-cutting digital technologies on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the actions of the largest digital companies to achieve these goals are explored.
At the end, recommendations are given for countries and industries to develop within the framework of digitalization and the introduction of cross-cutting technologies.
