The digital transformation, which changes business models, people's lives, and as suggested will have a huge impact on the entire economy considering 3 pillars of sustainability. This research is aimed to study relatively new virtual and augmented reality technologies to understand how the global economy can benefits from these disruptive technologies and contribute to sustainable development.
Goal of the research is to study prerequisites of the virtual and augmented reality technologies and assess the effects and prospects of the development of that technologies in the global economy. To reach the goal, a number of important objectives were be accomplished:
- to formulate the framework of VR / AR technologies in the platform global
economy;
- evaluate the main sectors of the VR / AR technology market;
- examine the impact of the pandemic on the VR / AR market;
- identify and assess the factors in the development of the digital economy by the volume of e-commerce, by the dynamics of the value of digital stocks and integration into sustainable development;
- evaluate the prospects of introducing VR/AR technologies.
