Детерминанты оттоков прямых иностранных инвестиций в российской экономике
Аннотация
One of the key indicators of a country's economic growth is foreign direct investment (FDI). On the government side, an increase in qualitative FDI outflows will increase long-term influence in the global market through expansion, as well as increasing influence in the global supply chain. Orientation of Russian companies to more potential markets will allow them to develop foreign markets with greater efficiency and profitability. The typical prerequisites for FDI in most Russian MNCs are to consolidate, retain, or expand markets, or to secure access to resources for production. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors determining the outflow of foreign direct investment from the Russian Federation, as well as to identify the most potential regions for investment.
In this study, the object is the Russian economy, which makes direct investments abroad. The determinants of the outflow of foreign direct investment are the subject of the research. Various testing methods are used during testing of the gravity model, such as OLS, Panel data with random effect, and the Poisson pseudo-maximum likelihood (PPML) method.
To sum up, the Russian economy as a whole is close to its investment potential. The study has identified the determinants of FDI outflows and analyzed the potential and identified the most promising regions for investment: EU countries, East Asia and the CIS. Also, key motivational aspects for increase of direct foreign investments outflow for Russia were identified. To summarize, it is worth noting that the investment policy of Russian companies should change the direction of investment to more potential regions.
